Panzerbeobachtungswagen Panther (Observation tank)

An observation vehicle based on the Panther Ausf D was developed for the artillery. The turret was equipped with a dummy weapon instead of the 7.5 cm KwK and a machinegun in a ball mount.
Therefore required fire-control optics were installed:
1 E-Messer (1,32 m)
2 Turmbeobachtungsfernrohre TBF 2 (1x for replacement), centered on the turret roof
2 Kdt-Beobachtungsgeräte TSR 1 (in front of the commanders cupola)
1 Scherenfernrohr (in front of the commanders cupola)
Application was made, according to Spielberger only tentatively.
This development was abandoned in favour of the main battle tank production.
