running condition
This tank was sent to Sweden at the end or after the war for test purposes. It was given back to the Panzerlehrbrigade at Munster in
1960. Some years later it was handed over to the Panzertruppenschule. In the 80s the commander of the Panzertruppenschule
initiated a total restoration. Also the original HL 230 was overhauled by MTU at Friedrichshafen. After some problems with the HL 230 engine and the lack of spareparts, the engine was replaced by a modern MTU Diesel. So the sound of this tank, while being moved, is not original. However it is in running condition (Info. from Rudi Ehninger, Brigadier General (rtd) German Panzertruppe)

Celles

This tank from the 2. Panzer Division was the first to reach the crossroads of Celles on December 24th, 1944. It drove over a mine and was abandoned there. The German offensive to reach the Meuse river was stopped there thanks to Marthe Monrique, who said to a German officer of the 2. Panzer Division that the road to Dinant was mined. Marthe Monrique acquired the tank in 1948, to put it as a monument where it was destoyed few years before

Panther Ausf. G
Grandmenil

This tank belonged to the 2. SS Panzer-Division. When the Germans retreated on December 26th, 1944, this tank was left behind without any damage, supposedly because it lacked of fuel

Panther Ausf. G
Houffalize

This tank belonged to the 116th Panzerdivision. Its number was originally 111, and it was extracted from the river Ourthe in Sept. 1948

New evidence has shown that the Ausführung of this tank can’t be determined with certainty. In any case, the turret is not an Ausf. G, contrary to what was indicated here and what the Thun museum claims. The mantlet is a replica. This tank can be either an Ausf. D or an early Ausf. A hull with mid-production Ausf. A turret, reconstructed after the war with parts taken on various wrecks. It could also be
a complete Ausf. A tank, with the right turret (but with a replica mantlet) as production shifts were both fluent and rapid (an early Ausf. A usually has pistol ports on the turret sides). Or it's a field modification. Any information about this tank are the most welcome
